Designed by 2012 Olympic team shooting athlete Nick Mowrer who incorporated his 15 plus years of shooting experience into these scope rings. Here are some of their key features:
Threads
Even though the rings are made from Aluminum, all threads are steel to prevent stripping out. The steel thread inserts used come from the aerospace industry and are self-locking, meaning they will never come loose or out of torque, no Loctite required.
Weight
Aluminum metal and skeletonized sections make for a light weight construction which is very strong.
Profile
With tactical type optics, the ultra-low profile keeps the rings from disrupting the line of sight to the turrets. This makes for quick, fast and precise optic adjustments. With hunting type optics, the ultra-low profile keeps the rings from catching on things and keeping the overall exterior profile of the rifle to a minimum. 45 degree hinge point and orientation keeps the scope turrets in clear view without any part of the ring obstructing that view.
Attachment Method
These rings are made for picatinny type rails. They sport a proprietary unilateral clamping method which only pulls the ring into the rail and does not put shear forces on the clamping screw. This makes for a stronger and more durable clamping system.
Hardware
Stainless steel is used throughout for corrosion resistance. Also, less hardware to lose, damage or break, these rings have 2 screws and one pin per ring where most others have a minimum of 5 screws/ nuts.
User Friendly
By incorporating a hinging point with a pin, the two ring halves articulate together making it easier to correctly install the optic without damage to the optic itself. Each ring only has two fastening screws for easy operation, installation and torqueing. Scope mounting can be done by even novice shooters. There is no torqueing pattern required, no scope twisting when installing and no lapping required. Because these rings are machined on CNC equipment and held to a high standard of 0.0005” tolerances on all critical dimensions, lapping would only make these rings less perfect.
