A DIY AR-15 Upper Receiver That Folds and Retains Zero

Of course, the AR-15 is one of the most-popular firearms on the market, but the original design doesn't lend itself to compact storage or transport. A number of companies on the market have developed workarounds to address this issue, and one of the most-innovative options on the market is the FoldAR Double Kit, which not only allows users to fold their stocks or stabilizing braces, it also allows them to fold the barrel as well!

With the Dead Foot Arms folding-stock adapter included in the FoldAR Double upper-receiver kit, your stock or pistol brace folds neatly along the side of the receiver and can be deployed and locked into place quickly when needed. Additionally, the "Double" part of the folding kit comes with FoldAR's unique upper receiver, which can be used with either a .223 Wylde or 300 Blackout barrel, each measuring 9 inches long. The locking lever included with the upper receiver allows the unit to fold flat along the left side of the receiver, while the stock or brace folds to the right.

The design of the FoldAR mechanism ensures that this unit maintains zero when folded into place, and the kit also includes M-Lok attachment slots on the handguard, as well as an A2-style flash hider. Barrels are equipped with 1:7-inch twist rates.

Note: The .223 Wylde chambering accepts and runs either .223 Remington or 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition.
