USASOC Clone Upper Receiver

The Geissele URGI AR-15 upper receiver is an exact clone of the "Upper Receiver Group Improved" currently going into service with the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). Brownells offers the Geissele URGI upper for the Colt Clones in a complete upper receiver group, one option being pinned and welded, and one that is not.

Geissele has installed a 14.5" Daniel Defense barrel optimized to handle the full rigors of the new M855A1 (AB57) ammunition, with the contract Surefire SF4P four-prong flash hider pinned up front. Functioning as a highly effective flash suppressor, the URGI’s contract SF4P four-prong flash hider also serves as a rock-solid adapter for a Surefire SOCOM 5.56 Fast-Attach sound suppressor (not included). In between, a mid-length gas system with low-profile gas block ensures more reliable cycling than a standard carbine-length tube.

Each URGI is fitted with the handguard Geissele designed specifically for USASOC, the MK 16 M-LOK Super Modular Rail handguard with a full-length Picatinny top rail and slots for other accessories. T-markings are engraved on the rail but not painted white to help keep the rifle unobtrusive. The URGI Upper Receiver is also outfitted with Geissele’s ambidextrous Airborne Charging Handle, with easy-to-grasp levers that are deeply checkered to ensure a confident grip when you need to charge the chamber in a hurry.

NFA DISCLAIMER/WARNING: The Complete URGI upper receiver contains a permanently pinned and welded muzzle device. This makes the muzzle device an integral part of the barrel to make the barrel meet the 16"" minimum length requirement, and requires no registration or tax stamp from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).
