From the manufacturer

Designed for an Easy Conversion to a Pistol-Caliber Carbine

Want to get in on the pistol-caliber carbine craze without having to load your AR up with special components? The CMMG 9mm Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group is designed to use all the components in a standard AR-15 lower receiver, making conversion fast and easy.

Unlike other options on the market, the CMMG 9mm Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group can function with the standard 5.56 NATO hammer, removing the need of the user to install a purpose-built 9mm hammer for use with a 9mm carbine upper receiver.

Each CMMG 9mm Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group is machined from quality ordnance steel and is a single-piece design that enhances durability and strength. The carrier key is staked, and the entire assembly is compatible with both Colt-style magazines and Glock pistol magazines.
