One of the issues with 7.62x39mm AR-15s is accommodating the size of the case head inside the receiver. Many manufacturers tend to just machine material from standard AR bolts, leading to a weakened structure that can fail far more quickly than purpose-built bolts. Faxon Firearms tackled this issue with its Type 1 Bolt Carrier Group, designed to give 7.62x39mm AR owners a bolt they can count on. Each Faxon Firearms bolt-carrier group comes complete with a bolt machined from 9310 tool steel, which is strengthened even further through a nitride-treatment process that increases surface hardness and maximizes wear-resistance.
